Have any of you chaps/chappettes fitted cruise control to a bus before? Would like to fit it to mine and want to know what is involved.

Mine is aftermarket SA and doesn't work - must fix.
It's quite a simple system and uses some VAG parts. Road speed from magnets and hall sensor on a rear CV, engine speed input from coil (I think), vacuum unit and secondary/parallel throttle cable, vacuum solenoid.
Ecu is adjustable with min/max speed limiters too.

Wondering how interesting mine would be to fit as I've got the VR6. The Speedo reads 62 when your travelling 70 etc.

Drive-by wire throttle? Could get interesting/complicated/expensive.

Yes, I have CC - one of the many toys you get when transplanting a Golf MK4/Passat 3B3 PD lump into a T3!

Have you tried googling "install cruise control"?
Might give you the basics of what you want to know.

Depends on what CC us use. They should have instructions on how to install.

Usually pretty simple:
Attach throttle control
Get vacuum for throttle control from brake booster line
Attach magnets and sensor to CV joint
Attach disengage system for clutch/brake
Attach control unit to dash/steering column/turn indicator
Run wires as needed

Mines got a real ancient 'vdo' one fitted. Works a treat.
Even had the instructions for it in the folder I got from the previous owner.
Feels wierd not having your foot on the pedal, but great for long journeys.

Scan it in and post it up - that kind of thing should be in the wiki
Is it the english version of this? http://www.t3-infos.de/images/VDO_Tempostat.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Yes, that's the one. Mine was fitted in Germany, but have German and English manuals.
Will scan it if you think it's worth doing.
Got instructions for just about everything with the van when I bought it, even how to change the factory sunroof seals.
