This Winter we have been mostly.....................
Going from this..
To gutting
Removing engine, sanding, vactan priming and painting the engine bay
rebuilding engine
cutting and welding lower sill panel
Painting on shed loads of second skin sound proofing
and insulation
Stripped down all the cupboards, cut new panels to replace any damaged/swollen..there was quite a few. Covered with fablon. We decided we liked the original layout so stuck with it.
Carpeted interior, including replacing the roof panel that broke when we removed it. Replaced panels and re-covered with vinyl as well as rear cushions
Starting to put the jigsaw back together
Finished off with new LED lights
Apologies for putting them on all at once but as you can see it has been a mamouth task, and we are not quite finished yet. Did manage to take it out on Sunday which was fantastic

Well done, looks great.
I've been rebuilding my engine and the bay had rusted in exactly the same way.
I bet you cant wait to use it now.

Cheers. Speaker cables are in place. I am going to build a couple of boxes for the back corners and probably put front speakers in the bottom of the door cards, unless i can find a better place so I don't have to cut any holes.

A bit of nice weather today, took advantage and put a couple of coats of white primer over the grey etching primer, after a bit of fine sanding.
Doesn't stand out as much now. Hopefully will be ok to put the colour coat on in a couple of weeks when it warms up a bit

Cheers Jiffies. We used Second Skin. Brushes on so you can get into the tight places. Needed a few coats but you do notice the difference.

Cygnac
Is this second skin soundproofing effective then?
http://www.deadening.co.uk/11-second-sk ... allon.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
How much of it did you use? Did you paint inside walls & floor?
I was thinking of buying a complete soundproofing kit from noise killer. Which includes rubber barrier mats which you lay on the floor or stick to the inside panels. Pricey at £250 though

We used the sludge

1tub did all of the panels, doors, over engine and battery compartments, each having 5 coats. We noticed a big difference the first time we took the van out last weekend, since we put it all back together. We could hear the kids talking in the back which was a struggle before, we'll probably regret that later
