Homemade bed issues?

Post by BigGirther »

My van engine bay is built up due to an engine conversion. Mint engine but it means i cant have a conventional rock and roll bed. Im planning on making my own home-made rock and roll bed out of wood, but not using the proper hinges. Are home-made beds/benches legal as long as they are safe and the seatbelts anchored to the chassis?
Cheers phil

don't think its that much but not that far off!, I'll measure it for you tomorrow, one easy way tho if it is higher at the back is to use thinner foam on the back part?

I built up the box over the engine to 5" , mounted the RR hinges a bit higher and as I was making the interior then made rear seat/box to suit, all works well
