I can't find the thread that i got that from, its somewhere on VZi forum. Member called Bin 'jammin' owned it before it was slammed, he might know who has it now. I've been tempted to get a tatty van and do a body drop, something like that white one would be ideal, too much work on at the moment though so it will be in the pipeline as i won't be doing to to my orange one.

Heres a rat looker i found

That was an awesome van. Choice between the blue rat van and the bright orange square light van below.....no contest. The blue van looks fab! I think semi- panel vans (with a couple of extra windows) will suit the rat look better than a standard pop top camper. I also love the large truck wing mirrors...I don't know how or why people spend a fortune on splitties or bays and then just show and shine.People will give you a wide berth in a beaten up van and you won't be terrified if it gets scratched. As long as it's solid with a good engine. Anyone also love LT's? Am i a freak to think that LT's are also funkier than splits or bays? Wish Volksworld etc would pay more attention to T25's and LT's. Our time will come!

Sorry

Thats a shed and a disgrace to a T25 (in my eyes)
That to me means, I cant be bothered to look after my van.

Unless its being restored :D

Each to their own?

Lowering a van looks the business, but the ride in a T25 is slightly bumpy at best! Let's face it,certain modifications will compromise the ride/performance. I think VW possibly knew what was best for the van when it left the factory and at the end of the day it is a van. Remember we're also a land covered in speed bumps.Saying all that...what the hell! Make those modifications and post the photos.Unless people experiment with modifications we won't know what works and what doesn't.I would also say that unless you intend to keep your van,if/when you want to sell your beloved it will only sell to a smaller number of people with the same tastes. Good luck!

Quick message for eatcustard. Surely a rat looking van tells other owners that they love their van because it's a modification and a statement? You're not telling people that you can't be bothered, you're telling people that you're definitely bothered and that you love T25's.It will be subtle tell tale signs and perhaps a few choice stickers that will tell others in the know what really lurks below the rust.

Sirbraun

modification and a statement

Yes its modded with tin worm

How long till it fails an MOT or structurally compromised in a crash?

But as you say everyone to there own.

Thats one van I would not give a second look at :ok

Wheres this rust? going by what i read about the van when i saw the thread on what work he did to get it that low it is structurally sound and i cant see much in the way of seam rash etc. Rat look if done correctly looks alright and the structure is fine, its just the patina thats been added to/ built up over the years. I've got a rat look single cab split coming in soon and as far as the owners needs basically he wants it 100% solid but to look like it did when it comes in minus the holes.

PS think the black paint around the bottom is from the repairs that were done.

i love the look of it but i would not want to own it. my van takes me thousands of miles on our hols ans i do nor fancy driving that to the south of france or italy etc. i think i would pack my w,n,dry with me ond roller it. each to there own though. i had a few matt black motor bikes in the eighties that i loved, a 350lc yam and a gt 550 kawasaki.

As long as it's waxoyled underneath, engine regularly serviced every 6 months, brakes kept good ,tasty good quality tyres and you keep tabs on the usual T25 rust hot spots,a bit of surface rust ain't gonna bother an MOT inspection. If a panel needs replacing simply treat and weld it on......multicoloured slammed rust box! As these vans get older and more desirable like bays and splitties, then i think you'll see much more modification and rat look T25's.The T25 is considered entry level on the VW scene......it ain't gonna last. Buy now.
P.S Just been outside to start the van and it kicked in first time.....phew! (bit worried with these sub zero temperatures).

Its on VZi somewhere, i've search for it and can't find much. If you look at my last post its the guy that owned it before so he might know who has it now.

Ok it has arches...but 2K is a bit strong for a panel van with no mods

that orange panel has full air ride and can sit its belly on the floor, plus the 17's and some bits done inside, so not really standard!
