Installing shims

Hi all, have converted a 90 transporter to camper and it has a 10 - 15mm lean on the side were all furniture is fitted. I have read in other threads about shims. Anybody know what they are, were you fit them and were you get them from..? :?

in the westy section

they fit on top of the suspension springs between the springs ad the body

i got em fitted on my westy :ok
