Lounge room comfort in a T3
I thought a few of you might like to have a laugh on how I used a leather lounge suite to redo the door cards on my 91 Transporter.
I've owned a black leather lounge (massive Post & Rail) for the last 20 years. My wife has always hated it, so the two seater was given to a friend and the two single seaters had been relegated to the garage to be sold/disposed of. I bought it when I first moved from home and even though the timber on it had started to get shabby, the leather was still very soft and had developed a worn look to it. It also had some nice stitching through it.
My existing door cards were pretty trashed so I thought I may as well try reupolstering for a bit of fun. Worst that could happen is I just get the cards re-done professionally. This is definitely not everyone's cup of tea, but it makes me smile whenever I see it, and makes my bus a little more individual...
All the best

Cheers Guppy. Just had a look at your ride/modifications - love it. It looks like you and I have similar tastes. Not afraid of the inner rat... Are there more pics of your bus/interior anywhere. Love to have a look.

Re: Lounge room comfort in a T3
It's getting out of control. Black leather is now in the back. It's a good thing I'm running out of leather now...otherwise I'd probably start on the outside next and my bus would end up looking like a porn star.
Cheers!
