Custom ss Exhaust

Post by jonnyels »

After bodging up my exhaust to get it through the mot i have decided to go stainless and get a custom made one.Ive managed to find some one that im confident will do a good job at at good price and after having a chat with him yesterday he asked what style i would like the tail pipes to be i.e how many and what sides to come out .

the ideas that ive had are

1) copy the empi twin tips but made of ss
2) twin pipes out the centre at the rear of the van
3)twin pipes out the normal side
4)keep it stock

i cant think that any of these will cause any problems but if you know somthing i dont please enlighten me.
it is purely just visual and hopefully sound good too

if any of you have photos of your custom exhaust or any ideas please let me know give me some inspiration.

the van is going in on monday so hopefully i will post some photos near this time next week.

i may be wrong but i think the thing is that the manifolds need to be equal lengths, this improves airflow and thus power, the rest is just asthetics. have a look at some of the perfomance pipes available for any of the flat four motors to get some ideas.
