AAZ question...yes, another one

I'm looking to fit an aaz into my syncro and figured all I would have to do is get a custom exhaust made.

Am I right or do I also have to play with the engine mounts, or anything else?

You only have to get a custom exhaust made if you fit the AAZ exhaust manifold. If you fit the JX one you can stay stock.

It just fits in but is about 2 inches taller - so you have to cut a hole in the engine hatch...

Good luck

If memory serves I had to have my JX exhaust manifold machined slightly - think it was to match up the ports...

I couldn't find anyone to weld it up and match the ports. Concensus seems to be that the metal is too thin to port the jx manifold as is (?).

Don't mind having to cut the engine lid a tad though. That seems like the least of my worries right now....

I seem to remember the port size is more of an issue with the inlet manifold - i never had an issue with using the jx exhaust manifold.

You dont need to cut the engine lid on a Syncro as the engine sits lower than on a 2wd van.

I've read in a few places that engine mounts may need to be modified. This true for a syncro as well?

I like the idea of using all the aaz components to get the true bhp out of it.

The T25 engine mounts just fit.

You only need to modify one of them if you start changing turbo's IIRC. Thats advanced stuff and i think there is some info in the wiki. I never went that far - stock power and MPG was just what i wanted.

Thats exactly what I wanted to hear about the engine mounts :ok

Anyone know somewhere/someone that can make an exhaust for my AAZ once its fitted to the Syncro?

I'm in London but willing to travel....

Glad this forum's around... I dont feel too alone in trying to do something thats way out of my league with the help of your good selves !!

Thanks, David
