Hi, I had my jx removed and replace with a 1y. The jx manifold, jx turbo was stripped and blanked off and used, jx ernst late type silencer used too.My question is am I loosing performance with this manifold and old blanked off turbo On a 1y? If so what would give me the best flow rate and power if any is to be gained.? :ok

I replaced the JX engine in my van for a 1Y & considered what you have done. But the best solution was to fit the 1y exhaust manifold and have a down pipe to the JX silencer made.I cut&shut the Jx down pipe to fit the 1y exhaust manifold to jx silencer as a temp solution then took the van to a longlife exhaust centre. A price for a stainless steel down pipe to fit was £70.00 which was done the same day .I carnt tell you about flow rate exhaust gases between your modified Jx down pipe and the longlife stainless but mine is smooth and not interrupted.Incidently i used the 1y inlet manifold but had it cut& shut to give clearance against the engine bay side panel&chassis rail.Others have been able to fit the 1y inlet manifold by notching the chassis and massaging out the side panel.Performance is reasonable MPG between 30/35 depending how its driven Image Image Image

Thanks for taking the time and to add pics too. :ok. Do you get any vibration at silencer? Look a nice job and to go stainless is a good option too. At least it will last. I was thinking of having a flexi down pipe made and scrapping the blanked turbo. If its not going to make any difference to performance i,ll save my money.my engine is returning around the same mpg its a tin top with roof bars. :D. Im also thinking I could source a working turbo and go turbo 1y. Thats if I can find one amongst the rocking horse pooh but I ditch the turbo to keep repair bills down.

Theres no vibration from the stainless down pipe long live wanted an extra £50.00 for a flexi joint. Its done aprox 12000 miles since fitted & no problems so far.I was going to take the silencer off then cut the end off to remove the baffles to reduce back pressure.
