Hi Lee,

I don't know if this helps at all - obviously no info there on whether the turbos get in the way of the mounts for the t25 etc...

http://www.myturbodiesel.com/1000q/tditurbo.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What I do know is that for an AHU or 1z with the wastegate turbo, if you want to put a VNT turbo on, then you need an AFN exhaust manifold, and then a modified downpipe... If you're sticking with the electronic setup you obviously need to change the N75 valve and get a res ball etc... I have no idea about mtdi I'm afraid - beyond me!

Lee, Please find below an extract from a post I did a few months ago, hope it helps.
I am doing a JX to AAZ conversion. I got my AAZ engine online. It has a KKK K03 turbo with an exhaust outlet that does not match the JX arrangement (this AAZ has KKK K03 turbo with an asymmetric four bolt flange where the JX is symmetrical). the K03 was fitted to the following AAZ engined vehicles. Again, please note, this turbo does NOT fit onto a standard JX manifold. Cheers Vandad.

SEAT IBIZA 1.9L D AAZ 93-96 K03 5303-970-0003 028145701R

VOLKSWAGEN GOLF A3 1.9L D AAZ 93 - K03 5303-970-0003 028145701R

VOLKSWAGEN VENTO 1.9L D AAZ 93-94 K03 5303-970-0003 028145701R

SEAT CORDOBA Tdi - 75HP 1.9L D AAZ 93-99 K03 5303-970-0003 028145701R

AUDI 80 TD 1.9 LD N/A 03 K03 5303-970-0003 028145701R
1989 Magnum(?) Multivan LHD German Import was JX, now AAZ

hi vandad, the ahu tdi 90hp i`m fitting has the k03-006 turbo and i`ll keep it like that for the initial install so any gains or losses can be assessed by fitting the m-tdi pump. i`ve read that this turbo will run 13psi stock and 18 psi max this is the info i have found so far.

ahu tdi 90hp. k03-006 13psi stock 18psi max. 3 bolt fitting.

jx td . k14 14psi stock ????????????

aaz. Garett t2 ????????????????????????? 4 bolt fitting.

cn 2.0 5 cyl td "not tdi" kkk k24??? 4 bolt fitting.

not got too far as you can see but i`m sure a list of suitable turbos and their applications isn`t going to harm. will continue and update as i get time.

with the 1Z tdi engine you can use the jx manifold, turbo, etc to use the standard engine mount

no idea how it performs though

spent a couple of houres getting nowhere this afternoon. its become obvious the tdi turbo and manifolds wont fit with the jx mount so i`ve got to make a decision which way to go tdi stuff and new mount or all jx stuff. think i`d rather go tdi so looks like i`ll have to get the mount sorted. not much room available for charge cooler and air filter either. i hate having to think.

Hi Lee,

don't rule out the GT1749 series of garrett VNT turbos - they fit the AFN manifold as I said, and I know the GT15 or KKK fits fine with the tdi mount (I've got a GT15)... they are great by all accounts - advantages of both small and big turbos, spool up quickly and give high boost pressures.... just have to change to vacuum! The tdiclub forum's got loads on this for electronic set ups - are you ruling that out?

well i`ve been speaking to owen developements and i`m going to run with the tdi turbo set up. it was my preference anyway so was quite happy when he advised me to go this way. " turns out he`s a vw head also " tim shettle is going to sort a tdi mount out for me so should be able to make some progress soon. going to need to splash out on a tdi shaft as i dont want to mix and match the clutch.

i`ve come to realise there`s a lot of different ways of fitting the tdi.
