Advice on replacement diesel engine

Post by Al Bal »

Hi,

I have a 1.6TD that I have been told is knackered and needs replaced. Heres a brief rundown of what happened:

Broke down in France, lots of grey/black smoke out the back. Garage in France diagnosed the head gasket had gone, garage back home in Holland diagnosed the same but on further inspection said the engine is a goner, said there is oil in the coolant.

So how much should i pay for a good 1.6TD?

And much should i pay for a good 1.9TD AAZ? Also, i'm not technical enough to fit it myself, how much should i pay to have this engine fitted?

Last question, anyone have any contacts or know of any good resources in south Holland/north west Germany?

Thanks

Al

Thats true! I've found some good resources on teedrie.nl and also http://www.bus-forum.nl" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Its a bit time consuming though as my Dutch is not great.

Going back to my post, how much should I pay for a good replacement AAZ engine? In Pounds is fine, it will always be a bit more in Euros tho as everything tends to be!

Thanks
