Donor cars ?

Post by Charlie40 »

Hi , Looking to change the engine of my 1986 t25 from a 1600D N/A to a 1900D N/A .What donor cars besides golfs/passats can i use, and what would be the latest year to keep the electrics the same. Cheers Charlie :?

Seat Toledo is your best bet - same engine, cheaper bits around the edge.

Personally I'd go for an AAZ, but it's your bus, your budget and your choice of speed ;)

Dont forget polo`s and ibeza`s both small cars so less strain on the motors. In the middle of fitting a late polo lump to mine although a few wiring issues with the pump, total of 7 wires coming from it.

polo lump is from a low mileage 97 model but see my thread regarding problems with wiring to the pump and dipstick on the wrong side. May be going back to the 1.9td lump from a toledo that has been sitting at the back of the garage sometime now.
