depending on the height you want the motor to intrude into your van you can choose your ground clearence.
looking at factory 5 cylinder vans the engine lid is raised from factory,also some tdi motors need a raised lid.
on the peug engine its only the fuel filter housing and turbo pipes that protrude,these can easily be changed
my 1.9td is much fasted than my 2.1 auto caravelle,although i would like at some point to find a volounteer to test it against a 1.9td vw motor and maunal 2.1 dayvan,as my van has bed/cupboards etc.
anyone interested?
interestingly i can convert a van to peug for much less than i can purchase a good vw td engine!
also of interest i am currently fitting a 2.1 turbo diesil peugeot engine which has the 110bhp of the vw motor,hopefully making an interesting drive
when this is complete the 1.9td is going in the 2.1 auto and i can compare top speed and acceleration
