LPG Tank access

Hi - IF you've seen any of my other posts you'll have guessed I'm new to all this. I have a T25 1989 westfalia with LPG underslung tank, have only just got round to considering filling it up and have discovered it has a lock - does anyone know if this is normally the same key as the doors/ignition etc, as i've tried it and it doesn't seem to work.
