Yes or No
Hi all and a happy Easter. Thinking of having a LPG conversion done on my 1900 DG. I don't cover vast miles but still don't enjoy only getting 20ish to the gallon. I have read most threads on the forum but iam worried about posible engine damage caused by running gas. Has anybody had damage whilst running on gas and if so what. Thanks

Re: Yes or No
Never heard of any such problems, esp if you get it done by Gasure - they have a very good track record in this field.
Did mine 4 years ago and I cannot fault it.
It paid for itself in less than 6 months and since then has been 1/2 price fuel bills with no downsides at all ( it runs better on LPG than on Petrol too )

Re: Yes or No
It's a no-brainer, get it done. They run smoother and are very happy running on gas and you're happier at the pump.

Re: Yes or No
Isn't there an issue though with LPG blowing the air flow meters, as pointed out by Spannerboy?

Yes I think there maybe or may have been ,here is the debate read all of it , including the link.
Junk the injection system and use a carb is one way around it.
Speak to Steve at Gasure , I'm sure he will answer all your questions , He's probably not in till Tuesday now.
If the conversion is done by someone who has converted 100's of T25's then your in safe hands. Work is guaranteed also.
If I had a petrol powered vehicle then it would be LPG'ed by Steve at Gasure , The price of fuel at the moment makes it a win win situation

nah, spannerboy is talking outa his wasteoutlet...... if its installed correctly it isnt an issue.
and anyway, there is no airfloe meter nor injection on a DG in the first place for it to not affect.

i have been running totally on LPG since 2003, covering about 90,000 miles on the first van, and about 40,000
on the current one.

Re: Yes or No
Steve Gas sure fits a backfire valve , before the air flow meter
this solves the probelm on 2.1's
1.9's, unless from the states
run a carb

And mine predates Mocki's and I think Steve (Gasure) before he started doing conversions...
I also wrote the LPG feature in VW camper and commercial magazine many years ago..
