LPG fine, petrol, not fine

Post by ChrisG »

Hi All,

Can anyone help? My T25 is running smoothly on LPG but there is nothing when I switch to petrol! There is nothing, it seems entering the engine.

Last time I ran it on petrol was a few days before Christmas, no problem.

And before anyone asks, its not the tank, its brand new and yes there is petrol in.

Thanks

Chris

Next time you start up do it on petrol and make sure it is getting thro to the carbs.

If not you need to check fuel lines and filters if it is need to check out the carbs.

Mine did that....fine on LPG, switch to petrol, and the dash lights came on.

Pump had died overnight.

new pump - all sorted.

my remote petrol switch had seized (water in the fuel rusted it)

take off the inlet petrol pipe from the carb, point it into a jug, start the engine , you should get some powerful squirts when you switch it over to run on both

Chris , if you start it on gas and then switch it onto both ( letting the carb fill up ) does it still run ok ? If so then either the petrol solenoid isn't working or the petrol pump is fooked

New tank ? when could be crap in the filter from the old tank or was that replaced ?

When I replaced the tank on ours the great-greatgrandaddy of dead spiders immediately blocked my new fuel filter ..... it certainly made me wonder where that tank had been manufactured and stored  :run

Hey Mark,

Nice to hear from you. Happy new year etc...

The fuel filter was replaced after, there was some junk but all gone. It was a new tank so I know its not the fuel filter, I've checked it anyway...

But interesting point you made regarding switch....

When the LPG/petrol switch is in the middle, then yeah bus is running none stop, no problems which i thought was strange.

So must be what you suggested...

Cheers
Chris

So did you have the fuel lines replaced at the same time as the tank ? and have you run it on petrol since ?
with the switch in the middle (gas and petrol) pull one of the wires of the petrol solenoid and then put it back on , do this a couple of times , it may just free it up , thats if it is that.

I think I've got a second-hand fuel pump if its the pump
