lpg wiring, how do i short out the brain?

Post by Big Al »

yup you heard correctly. basically i don't want the lpg brain to do anything, so cutting in at revs etc is all useless to me as i have to wait for the float chamber of my van to empty b4 can click over to gas anyways.

I have created a 'short' circuit that adds power to the solenoid ring, so the 3 solenoids click on when I flick a switch but this alone isn't enough for the lpg to work without the brain. The flow is controlled by vaccum on the 'carb', so what am i missing? what else needs to be powered for it to work? there is what looks to be a flow sensor that receives power from the brain, but not sure what this does exactly and why it should be stopping gas flow?

I'm going to try powering that up next with the solenoids and see what happens.

useful advice would be greatly received.

Thanks Al :)

Phone Steve at Gasure is the best advice I could give ..... however the words 'Short' and 'Gas' aren't one's I'd contemplate using in the same sentence.

MMmm... yeah, not what I would be expecting...
What system have you got? what switch box have you got?
Does the switch have 3 positions on it?
If it has no positions then the switch box is for a fuel injected engine and wont work with a carb engine... frigging it is not safe as the gas would not automaticaly cut of in the event of the engine stopping...

what ?
sounds like a misunderstanding in the making to me......

why do you not want to use the switch?
what system is it?
carb set ups dont need any petrol to start as a rule... so switching over is only for emergency use in the event of misplanning fill ups enroute? well in my case anyway.

most systems need a signal fto tell them to allow the gas to flow constantly.
