LPG Tank options ?

Post by alexb1969 »

Currently building this rover V8 for my Karmann gipsy - my long term plan (next summer once its run in) is to convert to Lpg - however I am struggling to find a suitable location for a gas tank - there is not a great deal of area within the van to house a tank and underneath does not really look an option due to ground clearance issues - Is it possible to put a toroidal(round) spare wheel style tank in the spare wheel carrier and put my spare on the roof or in the shower whilst driving ?

Would also be interested if knowing if any of the Lpg people on here would do a Rover V8 or am i better sticking to rover gas specialists ? ( currently been looking at rpi diy kits)

Any advice/Guidance appreciated

Please feel free to telephone me about this conversion, vurtually any normally aspirated motor can be converted to LPG irrespective of its origins, the expalnation would be far to lengthy to type, however the spare wheel carrier will only house an 8 gallon capacity tank due to the lack of space around the gearchange mechanism, I'd rethink that one.
