Spare Wheel Kit

Post by nesty »

After owning my T25 since 2006. I just realised I haven't got no jack onboard.

I thought about getting a small bottle jack. Does anybody have these for there T25?

Little bottle jack is a bit wobbly, wouldnt go there myself, if your JP's are up to it then use the original (add in wanted) or buy a suitable trolley jack.

Small bottle jacks dont really have the lift to deal with a totally flat tyre.

I use an origional VW jack.

Same here. They are fine for what they were designed to do......quick wheel changes and no bulky trolley jack taking up precious storage

Where would an original jack etc be lurking on a Westy? Inside the spare?

All the Westies I've seen have been stored under the R&R bed, right side...the original (non plank/short nose version) are pretty common, relatively cheap and you usually see a couple for sale at most shows (between £10 - £15 for the white draw string plastic bag/jack & tools)

they are normally under the passenger seat, so look under the drivers seat!!

I have a 2t halfords bottle jack and a metal plate, it just fits under when the wheel is flat, and just raises enough to install new unflat wheel. Its safer than the vw windy thing, imo, and takes up less room! (but to be honest, ive only used it once in 13years )the matal plate is to increase the foot size on tarmac in the summer.

"Under"?!?? There's a battery under each seat... There's no jack hiding under the R'n'R, either. Must've gone walkies.

Mate had a disco or freelander whatever, anyhow under the bonnet was a decent bottle jack with twin screw extention which together with the steel or dural plate might be worth investigating,

There's no other holes in the seat box, is there?
