Hi Guys,

my front wipers are all over the place, they seem to work a little. one goes half way up, one tries to move, doesnt matter what speed they're on. and now they seem to want to stay stationary below the actual windscreen.. any ideas?

take the round caps off and put the wipers on, are the main bolts still turning freely?

could need new nuts, bolt may be sheard or they may need just a tighten up?
make sure there is a washer under the top nut

cheers mate, seems fairly logical, my old punto had a similar problem. Will let you know how I get on.

Check the condition of the splines on the spigots too. Also the threads as sometimes they strip

Once my wipers stopped working on the M62. I could hear the motor turning and after a bit of head scratching I found that the bolt (10mm socket) had come looses where the wiper mechanism bolted to the wiper motor. You can just about reach it behind the fuse box.

There was a good thread here about salvaging wiper arms....

I can't find it.
