Fuel consumption with flat tyre?

Not on my bus but my car has been running with a very under inflated front tyre I thought it was the tracking but the nice man (tongue firmly in cheek) at Thick Fit said it was under inflation but were too busy to put air in it, any how the last 2 weeks my fuel consumption has gone right up I normally get 50 around town and 70 on a run but it is down noticeably from that, could it be the tyre or should I (or the lease hirer) be looking for another cause?

This might have been a technical question but I did not know how to spell it

You have more rolling resistance, therefore need need more energy to overcome the resistance, thus more fuel used.
