Trolley Jack 3 tonne?

Post by pierce »

Hi,

Is it necessary to use a 3 tonne trolley jack or will a 2 tonne do the job.

I would have thought that a 2 tonne would be sufficient, as you are not lifting the full van at once, but the sales literature for them seems to suggest they are only for cars?

What do you guys use?

2 tonne on the jack will a safe working load.... will lift more than that... so a 2 tonne will be ok... i would use axel stands anyway just in case..

thanks weedwacker, there is one on offer at the minute in Halfords, Halfords Advanced 2.25 Ton 4x4 Trolley Jack for 34 quid, might be worth a look.
