Your dash looks tidy - I'd definately consider painting mine.
might see if I can get a spare and spray it up to swap it out in a day

What's it like in the Sun? do you get any nasty reflections?
I was considering getting mine flocked with these guys http://www.atouchofflock.co.uk

I would put the dash removal in the class of 'bit of a faff' rather than difficult - and as mentioned, lots of things to fiddle with once it is out.

That white one does look great, like that. I've gone down a different route with mine which I hope to finish off shortly - will post up pics once done

I suspect that Volkswagen made it from metal to increase the rigidity of the front end in the event of a crash because the T3 shape means there is no traditional engine bay infront to act as a crumple zone.

I suppose reflections would be a problem but it 's fine.

not really. The steering column is fixed to the dash; and then there's all the missing instruments in the dash pod.

That is one strange link - flocked dash I can just about go with, but flocked wheels and rocker boxes???

Back to original thread...
Painted dash does look good. Very clean look - really suits the Aircooled front end.

We had ours powder coated white about 4 years ago. It is as glossy as the O/Ps dash and is still as fresh today as when it was done. Dash cost £25 to have done which included all blasting/coating removal. Have yet to have any issues with glare. as someone previously said, it lightens up an otherwise dull and boring black front end.
