help please - newbie needs shrewsbury contacts!

Post by dclarkson »

Any help/advice gratefully received! I've taken ownership of my first T25 (1.9 petrol 1986 hi-top) and am at the bottom of the learning curve. I'm compiling a list of to-do jobs and can tackle some of the little simple ones myself (Haynes manual is in the post) but would appreciate any recommendations of skilled persons to help me along the way. I spend weekends and school holidays (being a teacher type) in Shrewsbury and am moving there full-time in summer - so anyone near is good. Some things I'd like a once over on include:

Finishing/checking wiring - leisure battery/main battery/interior lights
Cosmetic rust treatment/touch up - seams/rear door frame/arches - specialist recommended?
Mechanism - driver door window (sounds like worn rachet thing behind winder handle)
Mechanical check - seems ok but want to be safe not sorry - and slight oil leak (stem valve) - good local mechanic?
And - any recommendations on painting interior of GRP high top - bad/good idea? - paint type?

Plus, importantly, happy to meet and greet any like minded T25'ers for general chit chat!!

Thanks, Darren
