Good mechanice/Garage needed in Merseyside/Lancs/Cheshire?

Post by kokohutt »

Hi all,

Really needs some help with our new 1986 1.9petrol, watercooled T25, having a few probs....I dont know where to start with 'him' and really need to get him checked over by someone who knows what there doing but reasonable as times are tuff and we are new to this game!
What we have done is:
Timing done
HT leads replaced
New dizzy cap, fan belt, air/oil/fuel filter changed, new battery, leisure battery, solonoid, new rotar arm.

He's still not right, really chuggy, loses power around corners, like when the timing was out and the wiring behind the dash....well dont get me started....its like Spaghetti junction!!!

He's not been looked after before we got him but we really want to use him without the uncertainty of being brought home on the back of the RAC wagon....again! :rofl
It's kinda spoiling the fun of it all now, he's freezing with no heater, well, we need the 2nd hand complete heater unit going in we bought but its been too cold to work on him!

So if anyone in and around the st helens, merseyside area, still has any xmas cheer left over and wants to help with our challenge, please can you let me know of anyone you know who can help us out (i dont mean for free)....but that would be grand too!! Realising now why he was a bargain!!! :rofl

Thnx in advance
helen :ok
