Sat Nav pondering

Post by munnyella »

Hi Folks

I won a Blaupunkt travel pilot 100 satnav device last year and have been trying to find out if I can get european mapping for it. seems not, according to blaupunkt themselves, they didn't seem convinced though.

First question then, does anyone know more than the bluespot teccies??

Secondly, if above not possible, what bits do I need to make my HP IPAC palm computer become a sat nav, I know it's possible, just know nothing about this kind of technology.

Could any answers be in words I understand please, I am a builder, not good with techno terms!!

Or am I better off getting a TomTom or similar?
My only toy now is a broken T25 and a sack full of BMX bikes. How the mighty have fallen (or got sensibler!!)

Don't know yours but I bought a Viamichelin satnav that was no longer supported by the company so I fitted a bigger memory card, installed basic windows operating system and can run anything on it now - including Tom Tom :D

Oh, and it will even play films too!

What makes it harder is that to work you need some stuff on the card and some on the units own limited internal memory. Did manage to locate latest speed cam upgrade for the viamichelin too :D

Cheers Mike, been working my way through it slowly and not getting too far. I need to spend a bit of time sorting it properly. Struggling to find much Michelin related, but determined to crack it
