on hols in skegness Fluid in Drivers footwell

Post by shanco73 »

Hello, So On Hols visiting Family in sunny skegness Burgh le Marsh actually but right close to Skeg, Fluid starts apearing in drivers footwell. 1986 1.6 n/a diesel

I have only had this particular van for a few weeks and only done a medium distance few day trip away in her so i have pleanty of tools with me, and a large drive to work on, a couple of questions !!

Is it the brake or clucth master cylinder, i have read lots of posts and i have come up with the following.

There is no fluid on the bottom of the clutch pedal so i think it might be the brake master thats leaking. BUt i cannot see any fluid leaking around the brake master (would i see it or is it going in to the servo) If i look lower i can see pleanty..... people say that this could be the fluid that has leaked in to the servo from the brake master or it could be from the clutch master.

Need to fix this in a hurry.

We have another 500 miles or so to do up to North Yorkshire around about a bit and then back down to Surrey.

So Any Ideas, Also WHERE AROUND SKEGNESS so i buy the master cylinder ????? Thanks for any help and advice. :ok

Try and get in touch with 'tomanytoys' on here, he is not to far away, well about 30miles I guess. If not there is a garage that deals in t3's at a place called Revesby north of Boston on the A155 but no doubt they will not be open till Monday..

Sounds like the clutch master cylinder is leaking.

Drive carefully and it should get you to Si or even beyond, T'onion drove back from central France with his weeping. These CAN leak for a long while before packing up completely but be aware of it and change it asap.

Wife is getting a little unpatient with the vans, or me or both.

Thanks again everyone.
