Help - my van needs a garage for mot and welding

Post by garry247 »

I own a 1980 1600cc t25 which is in inverness which I bought on eBay. The garage it's at said they don't think it will pass the mot because it needs welding and possibly a new clutch. I live in north London and it's going to cost me £460 do deliver to me. I would rather get it delivered to a good reliable and not too expensive garage and then pick it up when mot complete.

Does anyone know of a somewhere that can fix my bus and mot?

I live in barnet so if they are near me and good value then that will be ok as well

thanks in advance. This has become more expensive then I expected.

Garry

Thanks

Why not have it delivered to a group of top guys at http://www.syncro-nutz.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; who are based at Shotts.

Let them cast their eye over your purchase and then collect once it has been sorted...

Regards

PS, 175 miles from Inverness to Shotts is a bit better than trying to get it back to Barnet and still needing an Mot.

Nice to see we still have some courageous people ruled by heart instead of their heads in this country. Braver than I will ever be that's for sure.
Furthermore, £460 is tremendously cheap for a one off journey with lowloader from Inverness to Barnet and return. The diesel will cost about £350 alone. Are they delivering according to a date arranged by youself or when it suits them ? ie. they have something else to take back north so to reduce costs. Best to confirm. Otherwise you could be waiting sometime?

I would take Fritz advise. With respect to you & your purchase, there's no point lowloading a potential turd 550 miles.

Good luck :ok

I am in Inverness if it helps - happy to go have a looky and a chat with gge.

I know a couple of places up here who work on them (it isn't the red Aircooled in Dingwall is it? if so it is outside one of the garages who work on them....! May be worth them doing the job - getting up here - getting some breakdown cover an driving it home ...
