Unfortunately i bought a golf off a well trained professional with a well equipped tool box. £10 halfrauds socket was cheapest/quickest/easiest fix as i had a bag of spare nuts in me garage anyway.

How rounded off are they?
Do you have a really good quality 6 point socket i.e snap on or a like not cheap chinese crap.
What wheels are you running. Alloys or steelies.
If 6 sided spcket just slips off then can you get a good 12 point 18mm and hammer it on then crack it off.

Firstly a Happy New Year to you!

Secondly, a result on the wheel bolts. 5 foot long scaffold bar and some heat did the trick. All 5 bolts cracked undone after a bit of heat was played over the heads. Job done!
