Ideal full wheel diameter

Post by climberjim »

Ive fitted a set of alloy wheel to me van which i believe came off of a ford of some kind. The wheels look a bit small and i seem to be wizzing through the gears.

What is the full diameter of a steel wheel and tyre together?

If i was to fit another set of alloys what is a good size, ie for a 17in wheel what profile tyres should i have?

Cheers Jim

Look at the bottom of the page above and calculate what size wheels you need on your current rims. The first settings are for standard wheels so fiddle with the 2nd set to get the diameter as near as possible.

i.e 225/55/r16 is an exact match
