Would this dimension of alloy wheel fit(quick advice needed)

Post by nesty »

I got a VW T25 (1984). It’s in the local garage on Friday they are installing longer front studs along (so alloys can be fitted along with the MOT it requires. Obvouilsy important the wheels go on, as I don't want it to be stuck with it not rolling & I am sure they won’t thank me either!

The alloys are 7.5J ET35 R16. The tyres are 205/55/R16. Far as I know they should fit, ET35 is suppose to be ideal? Does anyone foresee any problems with this dimension of fitting? Would a spacer be compolsary for these type of wheel?

Otherwise on Friday. I may need to purchase contingency parts asap. If the fitment doesn't go according to plan!

Yes the wheels are Millie Milela 1000. The PCD 5x112. I got them from a Merc 2nd hand parts specialist.

A 60mm rear stud conversion I had done last year, so rears should be fine.

Yes garage fitting front 60mm longer wheel studs, that I got from Baxter this morning. I think the garage main concern is having the T25 marroned on the ramps without rolling stock if the alloys don't fit. I can't see no reason why they wouldn't. Maybe apart from the spacer issue, some say I need a spacer?

I am not too worried if doesn't look right. I can deal with that when get it home. My main concern is a easy fitment at the garage & getting the T25 home without any hassle to the garage. They doing the work this morning. If I need a 7mm spacer then have to go and get one this morning, before they start the work. I just don't want to be in the postion of it being marooned on the ramps. Otherwise they are not going to be very happy with me!

As a congentecy plan. I might have to get some extra standard nuts today, so the standards can be bolted back on for the ride home if at a last resort.

Though I doubt the taperheads ones I got below for the alloys would fit a standard wheel in emergency?

My mercs are Et45 7.5j and needed 10mm spacers on the front to clear the suspension and 20mm on the rears, I assume to make them look right

Many thanks for all your replies. I found a bloke who runs a speedshop locally and he does private mech stuff. He going to fit the studs for me on Tuesday & fit any spacers that need to be applied!
