What tyre profile size

Post by nesty »

I got a set of 16-inch merc wheels to go on my T25 Holdsworth. I got the bores drilled out and now have to decide on new tyres. I am a bit undecided on what tyre size & profile I should put on my camper.

My camper has got 55mm HR Green lowered springs with AVO shocks. Ideally I would like to go low, though I do have water tanks underneath to take into consideration.

What profile are others running?

your profile is a percentage of the width.

a 225/55 X 16 would be perfect

lesser profiles will compromise weight loading value for a T25

the lower profile you go the worse the van will tramline and transmit road bumps through the steering. so i`d say 55`s min poss 60`s or even 65`s.

i run 18" with the correct size to make speedo work correctly. think its 30 profile.

mines not lowered and the rides alright, looking to lower soon and may regret it

I've got 225/55 on my 7.5j rims and they ride fine. Far better than the standard wobbly tyres

dont forget the profile is directly related to the width, so where a 225 or 245 with 55 profile may have side wall hight of say 2 inches a 195 with 55 profile may only have a side wall hight of 1 inch.

in the words of yazz " the only way is up " 255 / 65 / 16 for me ta. :ok

255/65/16?

According to the tyre calculator that's 13% out
