How do you get these damn hubcaps off. There two holes very close, i'm guessing these are involved but how?

Used with a bar of some kind through the loop....... lever against the tyre wall. I still have the original for my old '73 Bay.

Mention on the linked site was made of the original VW tool kit that came with your bus....out of interest did the T25 come with one, what did it consist of and who still has a complete one?

Sorry!....it just got me thinking! :D

otherwise use a large bladed screwdriver, insert behind rim of hubcap and twist (carefully, so that you don't scratch the rim)

I had to buy a replacement puller from JK, they are even cheep from the main dealers I think, well worth it if your hubcaps haven't been mangled yet. Got a couple of the spanners knocking around but not the screwdrivers (though I'm not sure exactly what they look like so maybe I do have one, sounds like the shaft is removable from the handle with a different bit on each end, which would be handy for dismantleing the front of the van just to change a bulb). Sometimes if you find a tidy golf in the scrappys they still have tools, same goes for the wheel brace (which is crap for wheelnuts but good with the hubcap ring).

Never seen the oil can thing, wonder if the picture is borrowed from an earlyer model so there are some irrelevant items pictured (not uncommon practice)?

I have to very carefully use a flat-bladed screwdriver to get mine off (most of them only have one hub cap removal hole on them).

In my kit is a metal rod lever about 10 inches long with the end bent over at an angle so you can just lever it sideways. Works a treat. A bit like a heavy duty screwdriver with the top inch bent over at an angle. Whether its original I don't know.
