wheel offset

Post by cosmos 2.1 dj »

Hi can anyone help me. I've just bought a set of porsche replica alloys the rears are 9j with an offset of 55. would a 20mm adaptor be correct to reduce the offset or would i require something a bit bigger because of the larger width.. cheers

have you seen this? http://wiki.club8090.co.uk/index.php/Wh ... ive_wheels" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; don't know if it will be of use to you, but I just found that it answered a whole load of questions that I didn't even yet know I was going to want to ask :)

You'd need a 55mm spacer to clear the suspension on a 9" rim

not recommended in my opinion

55mm spacer/adaptor would give an effective ET of 0 so yes i agree not to be recommended.

I'd suggest a 20mm adaptor which gives an effective ET of 35 which clears the suspension but the sliding door may just catch the tyre depending on the tyre size.Easily sorted though by slackening off the allen bolts on the bottom sliding door hinge and giving the door a gentle pull...then re-tighten.This gives you an extra couple of mm clearance.
