Tyres for 16" Porsche wheels?

Hi all. I've just picked up a set of porsche D90's 6 inch wide fronts 8 inch backs. I've got them all ready to bolt on the van with the adaptors etc..

Dilema time now though - should I risk the ZR car tyres...? They are almost new P6000's load rating 630KG @ 51 psi. My vans a high top Holdsworth vision camper so a shade over 2500KG's.

I see a lot of campers on these wheels and from what I can tell they run with the car tyres. Can you actually get C rated 225/50 16's for the rear?
I've seen campers on 18's - are they running C rated tyres..?

I'm thinking of running them at the maximum pressure (51psi) and keeping the speed down to reduce the risk

I've got the same alloys and run extra load 205/16/55 on the front and 225/16/55 on the back.
I the load rating is 94 on the front and 97 on the rear.
I'm not saying these are either right or wrong but just it's what I have.

It did have car tyre on the front when I bought the van but I change them as soon as I got chance.

What make are the rears? just did a search and can't find any high load tyres in that size...

Was running porsche 928 rims with 225/50r16 fitted. I struggled to find c rated tyres so instead opted for bridgestone Potenza RE05A run flats. Figured extra strenght oin sidewalls to allow tyre to run flat so should be o.k on van weight, never had to try if they were any good when punctured but ran with these for 3 years and no problems.

225/55/16's are available from Camskill Tyres from 95 upto 101 load rating.

Checked mine earlier and my rears are actually 215/60/16 load rating of 98.There Pirelli's.

Cheers guys.. it's a minefield but from what I've found the closest I can get to the rears is 215/55 -16's - Hankook RA14's 98 Load rating.
Or Pirelli P6's in this size.
The fronts are easier loads of makes in 205/55 -16

Might be too much for you, but I have a set of 4 225/65R16C commercially rated 'Multivan' tyres here for sale. Bought them in an emergency state so they have only had very light use. I ran them for a few days on my Syncro but swapped for All Terrains once stock had come back in.

The 'C' denotes a 112 load rating - so adequate for a T3/Type 25.

They've covered Notts to Vanfest (and back) from new and that's all, so near nothing as far as mileage goes.

They cost me over £280 but I would take £200 for cash.

225/65's are too big....unless of course you're running a Diesel and you want to drop the revs down?

225/65's compared to standard steels with 185/14 tyres are 45mm(6.88%)bigger.
225/65's compared to standard alloys with 205/70 tyres are 56mm(8.71%)bigger.

I think you may struggle with clearance with a 65 profile is your van has been lowered at all.

My 60 profile are a nice sung fit bit I think a 65 might catch

Yeah your right I think on the profile. The 225/50 16's look pretty good in terms of radius next to my stock steelies.
I'd rather gear it the other way - I'm running the 2.1 WBX Auto box, it has the legs already (but no lungs past 80! ) ...
