Hi everyone,

I use my 3/4" drive torque wrench (that goes up to 360 lbs ft) and a 46mm socket to do my ones.

I think it's really the best way to do it, they are not cheap but at least you will have far less chance of hurting yourself !! Have a look on eBay and see what's about (that's where I got my Norbar one from).

Having broken most of my T bars I ended up slicing it with my cut off tool and replacing it with a new one . I managed to get the van off the ground on my snap on t bar and it still didnt loosen . The cut and replace method worked great took less than 5 min . I replaced with the correct tourque and hope I never have to replace again. When you get it off check the brake backplate for rust as they can rot away close to the hub and you dont ever want to take that nut off again . Good luck and stay calm

I got the tool from Just Kampers socket and 3/4 drive bar
I also got the back plates etc as well from them
New nuts came from GSF as did the new drums, slave cylinders, shoes, and CV joints rubbers etc
What a pig of a job
I ended up cutting the things of and just renewing them

Mind you after a total mechanical rebuild
These were the only nuts that did not come off without excessive force from the entire vehicle
Don't you just love that German engineering?

If you're going to take them apart
Then my advice is to change every thing that you can whilst you have the nuts removed

Do it once and do it right first time

I used a socket and bar after use my 16stone on it and not getting far i
jacked the van up wedged the bar on the ground and lowered the van off the jack and so using the vans weight to undo the nut

I have a bucket full of them, again another one of those items I have a load of but not on the website yet!

I don't suppose I could get a couple off of you? Let me know how much etc..

I went down the 46mm socket, 3/4" brake bar + scaffold pole... now snap-on dealer needs to replace my broken bar!

the handle off a high lift jack worked well if your stuck at the side of the road with no scaffold pole to hand. A tip for those of you who like your kit to do more than one job. Jake and I changed his rear bearing in wales at the side of the road.
