Tyre Size & Speedo Difference Calculator.

Post by VWCamperfan »

Just found this little calculator that lets you know how your speedo will be affected by a tyre size change.
Seen a few questions about it on here so thought I'd share it!

My speedo used to drive me mental as it was so inaccurate.
All I did was borrow a sat nav to see how far it was out. When the sat nav said I was doing 70, (not bad for2.0ac) my speedo showed 86 mph. I simply took the speedo out and moved the needle to 86, then held the backing plate thing that turns with the needle at the back of the dial face. With the backing plate firmly held, I then moved the needle back to 70mph.
On the next run I re-checked my speedo with the sat nav and it was "cock" on at all speeds. It only took 10 minutes and the world became a better place! hope that lot makes sense.

Really Really nice little device: Heads Up GPS speedo under £50

I would imagine also very useful for those peeps who have non standard wheels and want to know what speed they are REALLY doing.
