would these be ok on my van on the standard steel rims ?

We were recommended these:

Vanco's excelent tyre.. I ran a set for 5 years and a lot of miles.. the Toyo's that replaced them are not as good and havent lasted as well...

I would have thought any 185 R14Cs would be suitable. It's all down to your budget and brand preference I suppose.

Just had some Vredestein Comtrac 185 R14Cs fitted to my carats.

Have used Vredestein tyres for years now. Good compromise between price and quality. They seem to wear really well and provide good grip in the wet.

Highly recommended :D

simony, I'm guessing that's from etyres?? if you want 5% discount use this link click me!! it's meant for staff of a certain supermarket that very little helps but etyres never check up!

I got 5 x Avon rain max tyres on excellent steel wheels, complete with hub caps for £80 squid, from here :D

I would shop about if i were you.
