Carat tyres
Probably been discussed before but, I've done a search and can't find owt
Can I fit 185 R14 C tyres on Carat alloys?
I know the 'correct' tyre should be 205/70 R14 but, I've got a steel spare with a brand new 185 C on it and would like to keep that tyre as well as keeping all the tyres on me van the same size.
Suppose I'd need a Carat spare as well so all the nuts/studs match.
Can't decide between steels or Carats

We took the tyres (185 R14 C) from our steels and put them straight on the carats - no problem
Go for the Carat, they look sweet

Why not just carry 5 radius nuts for fitting the spare?

I just posted the same question on Brickyard and for the same reason. Just fitted my Carat alloys and they look great, plus you don't have to declare it as modification since they were a factory fitted option. The profile may be slightly smaller with 185's and, like Steve said, carry a set of the original nuts for the spare.

to keep your speedo reading correctly you need to stick to the 185R14's really, i think the 185 width is just ok on a 6'' wide Carat rim. the Carat speedo's are geared differently to allow for the lower profile 70 section tyres. the 205/70R14C's on a Carat are not listed by many decent brand tyre makers, which is why i switched to 195/75R14C so i could fit Continentals on mine to keep my speedo reading right, theyre within 2% of the rolling rad of the std 205/70's i had on,
hope that makes sense!

185R14 on Carrats
They are fine, I have 185R14's on my Carrats. Admittedly they look a bit skinny and ideally 205/70R14's would look better but I settled for the 185's for the same reason, I had 3 almost brand new ones so fitted them instead.
