16" Syncro wheels

Post by sparkes »

Hi,

I want to fit 16" syncro wheels to my 1980 Joker, May sound like a silly question, but firstly will they fit, and secondly will I have to beef up the suspension springs with regards to rubbing under the front arches when going over bumps?

Cheers for any advice

Neil.

currently in the process of fitting a set of 16 x 7.5 on mine from a merc e-class.
got the rubber on this weekend 215/55/16 97w extra load 8)
just need to get spacers and longer studs so i can bolt 'em on!

(was inspired by the gipsy on syncro 16's - anyone know whose it is? i think it was featured in camper and bus a while back...)

it looks 8) with those rims!
the merc ones look a bit different - bigger holes and deeper faces.
i'll post a pic when they're on.

ok, here's the low down;

wheels are 16 x 7.5 et42 merc steelies (from an e-class i think...)
no machining required on wheels
stud conversion on front
long rear studs
16mm spacers front and rear
radius nuts

tyres are sumo firenza st-08 215 55 r16 97xl
(these are slightly smaller diameter than stock)
