Merc steel rims with the part no. starting 202 *** *** off C-Classes. You'll find them in ET31 and ET37 flavours, in 6 or 6.5" width.

But dont have the right load rating.
You can get rims that have the correct load rating and we import them.

OK so lets assume I have the 15" 6.5 steel rims, and want up to 10% taller "gearing" what size rear tyres could I fit to said rims :?:

and if anyone has some rims (15") alloy or steel I have up to £250 burning a hole

ps. I like the BRM style

Yes i know of a few that have failed.
These merc rims were desighned for a car not a van if u use them of road only then ok because u are not going fast. But if u are using them on the road well up to u but i wouldnt.
The rims we supply are rated at 950kg each and unfortunatly no one can give me(you) the load rating on the merc ones but one thing i do know from comparison is that they are made from steel half the thikness of the ones we supply.
If anything were to go wrong with merc rims on the road it also becomes
a liability and insurance ishue.

i've put a link to a tyre size calculater here.
http://www.club80-90.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1128

some others & I have given opinions on gearing increases in the thread also, definitly worth a read and some thought.

as for the rating of the wheels, there are three questions
(one asked by russel, but then he is selling them)

would vw fit merc car wheels?
would merc car wheels pass the TUV test?
would the insurance company honour the claim?

russel. please let me know the price also, as i am interested. :D

no one can give me(you) the load rating on the merc ones
The C class:
(gross vehicle weight rating (kg): 1,945, gross vehicle weight rating
kerb weight (kg): 1,490,)
http://cars.rte.ie/newcars/index.cfm?fu ... SSCIRL2002

the unladen 'Kerb' weight of the Caravelle GL is 1500KG (10KG heavier than a C Class!)
Gross vehicle weight is 2390kg (from the VW instruction manual)
I'd say your OK with the merc rims if you dont overload your van (no more than 455Kgs including passengers
