turns out van is taller than i thought...

Post by nikalele »

Hi,
The other day i stupidly drove into a barrier and cracked my skylight. Looks like iv not been the first one as it has signs of being repaired before.
Anyway, just wondering if anyone know of a place i can get my self a replacement? its fitted to a tintop, i havnt measured it but id say its roughly about one foot square in size.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

would possibly consider a full pop up roof for the right price if anyones getting rid.

I bought my hightop skylight from JK when rebuilding my camper. But I am constantly worried I will do the same (I did so on my CF!) So I intend to splash out £25 or so on Amazon for a reversing sensor kit as fitted to my Mondeo and rig the two sensors up on the hightop. a few trials with a home made goal post device should enable calibration to the point where you could proceed with some caution waiting for the graded audible bleep sounds. Of course another way would be a pivoted stick which would be pushed back against a weather proof micro switch and bleeper. You've got me going now!

The benifit of travelling as a couple is you always have someone to play lookout

If you are replacing the whole thing then just go to a caravan shop and have a look, if it's parts you'll need the manufacture but there are lots of places do replacement bits

But then again you always have someone to take the pee and tell you friends!
When I did mine the plastic went off like a shotgun and everyone was looking elsewhere for the source until my grandson shouted out "You hit the bar Granddad!" Then all the bits landed around us.
