full units make or not too?

just seen few posts about unit and think i'm gonna make some based on standard ones but made from 18mm quality plywood so you get the effect of the edge of the plywood and sealed what ya recon??
and be for sale after and they'll be tidy ad i'm a perfectionist lol

18mm is very heavy
In most converters, their units use a solid wood carcass and 6mm panelling
AGG 2.0L 8V. (Golf GTi MkIII)

hmm would have to weigh it but thinking of half the crap people carry anyway lol maybe just use 18mm for upright sections and 6mm for pannel like you say i'll see what works at least it wouldn't peal or look rubbish and would last for years

Being a perfectionist would mean not showing the edges of plywood!

lol well i made some bedroom units with my design in thought edges at 45 degrees so looks good from the layers etc once clear varnished looks great, reserve judgement and ya'll see lol

Good quality 16mm Baltic Birch Multiplex ply looks really good when finished correctly (epoxy resin and polyurethane) as it has no voids.
It's still pretty heavy though.

For a nicer look (imho) go for a lighter (cheaper ply) at 10 - 12 mm and edge band it with rebated Ash or Birch.

I'm currently using 12mm and 15mm light weight ply (with a birch finish, printed vinyl not veneer) from a place in Kidderminster. It costs about £60 per sheet and is very easy to work with.
