don't say oil radiator
I'm after some way of keeping warm during winter camping trips on sites with no electric.
Any ideas?

Buy a new propex heatsource 2000 from eberbasto. It will retain it's value for many moons to come and really is the dogs bollox. Plus they only draw 1 amp when running and igniting whereas the ebers can draw up to 20a for the first few minutes as they have to heat a glow plug. Propexes are piezo (automatic). I think propex are quieter too. I always thought that i've got gas in my van already so why bugger about with additional diesel tanks too. They don't put out as much heat as some ebers but they don't need to as the t25 though a good size is not the size of a fishing boat. £340 should do it all in.

I got an Eberspacher water heater from a transit van. It preheats the diesel engine but is excellent as a heater for van in conjunction with a heater matrix and a fan. Got mine for £40 from local breakers. Dont think they realise they sell on ebay for about £200. Just got another one today for same price from a different breakers. They have a small tank for heating water as well, just a bit useful. Easy to spot if looking for one as there's a small control panel on dashboard. Wouldnt be without mine now. Ps. They run on diesel (red diesel OK to use as its for heating!).

Old thread resuraction!
This thread is over a year old but thought i'd fill you guys in on what i did.....
I brought a SB1800 for £10....
I've fitted it in the same place as in the photo above. (only place with enough floor room. Also gives a good storage hole behind . I've had to make my own casing for it as the one i got was right handed control only and that would make the foot plate in the wrong place and stick out the door!
My only problem now is... Its too darn hot!
After 20 mins on its about 40C in the van
I'm hoping cooler weather will make it more bearable

Bargain, they really do belt out the heat.
Keep and eye on ebay, the thermostatic ons come up now and again. They make all the Difference set the dial and forget.

And they don't flatten the battery!!
Does yours have the thermostat?
I'd have thought it would cut down to minimum at a set level due to the did theromstat bulb below the valve but all setting seem to be maxinum...
Can't wait till its snowing

Hi blue
The one in the photo is the standard one.
My "new" one has the thermostat. Much the same as with little box and what looks like a phone cable that plugs into the heater. will take some photos at the weekend. Battery has never been an issue, do loads of wild camping and its alwas on this time of year.
Think the bulb is a safty cut out will check the manual.
