Also does the fan stay on all the time its on gas/elec or just when it gets hot?

Looks like original Westy to me. That hose is held on to the flue with the self tapper you can see there. Should be another screw at the other end where it joins the outlet fitting.

As the fan - in theory it should just come on when it gets hot. Mine seems to be on most of the time in the summer, something like 50 seconds on then 10 secs off and so on but I reckon my thermoswitch is faulty and it should not be on so often.

On second thoughts after comparing pic with mine - not sure if the top of your flue is bent too much leaving a big gap in the side facing the fridge.

Just have pic of mine from a while ago here so can't get better angle on it. Looks like there is a slight kink in it but can't see if there is a gap or not. Best wait for other peoples opinion as if yours is letting fumes out there which should be vented outside it could be dangerous.

i can bend it back easy enough but would be good if someone could verify thats the right thing to do...

think my fan is caput as i tried connecting 12v to it and nothing, come to think of it i havent ever heard it come on...

Will see if I can get pic though the side vent as my fridge is all bolted in.

The fans tend to seize up and many people here myself included have replaced them with computer case fans attached to the fins.

Sorry - vent is too high to get photo through but I do reckon you need to bend the thing back again to close that gap.
