Water Heater Query

Post by Louey »

I'm in the middle of installing a water Heater for the Shower in my van

I'm fitting a vertical flue to it as per the fitting advice/instructions, but I've just read in an advert online that I only need to fit a flue if drawing off more than one tap it must be flued to the outside air. I'm only fitting it to the hot tap in the bathroom, so do i need to flue it? Common sense tells me to, though it is not something I will be using a lot.

The model is a Rinnai REU 58e Caravan/Motorhome Gas Water Heater

The flue kit I have for it is this one

Just to reiterate:

Do I fit the flue? I do have a mushroom type roof vent just above the boiler's location already (I was planning on using this hole for the flue.)

Also, if I do what type of sealant shall I use - needs to be heat proof and seal the storm collar (part in bottom right of picture) to the roof (using self tappers or rivets too).

I'd put a flue on it. The heat out the top of theses things is amazing

Ta much :D

Any ideas on what sealant to use too? Would this be suitable?

Sorry, forgot about this topic.... That stuff looks ok, roofers type black sealant should be good too. Just check the temp rating on the tube
