Diy door cards

Post by Reimotim »

Hi everyone!

Has anyone out there made Diy door cards?

I have the originals with huge speaker holes, I'm planning to use them as a template. I notice that JK advertise theirs as 3mm MDF. Is that the best material? Are there alternatives?

Are there any pitfalls to beware of?

Cheers

Yep I made mine, I uses the ply ones you find on eBay.
Top tip would be make sure the holes match the clip holes in the door enforce you start covering them.

Have fun, I really enjoyed doing it have a look at the pic in the garage.

Cheers

Hi Si,

Your cards look good. What thickness of ply did you use?

Yep 3mm ply and varnished then some padding, the two types of vinyl to match the arm rests .

I did the rest of the panels in the back to match.

Took a while but was fun

I like that idea, I already have tread plate in the rear and it would look great.
Where did you get your plate? How did you attach it - can you use the original clips?
