We ran a gas fridge for a week on a trip without turning it off, we do use a CO monitor of course as is wise in enclosed spaces. The alarm never triggered once, but we tested it by using the gas rings inside and the Alarm went off in less than an hour.

Gas fridges are utterly safe if fitted correctly, its the hob, or heaven forbid those who use gas heaters inside that really need to be careful.

Don't forget with those 3 ways too, if its a bit rubbish on gas it may be because you aren't on the flat, any angle of the van and they are rubbish.

agreed when were away on trips the fridge stays lit for 3-4 weeks,no issues ,stop this "i have kids so to be on the safe side"which with regards to fridges correctly fitted is scaremongering akin to the old days when ships were thought to fall of the end of the world
mm :rofl

My grandparents didn't die of having a gas powered fridge, that was never turned off, in their kitchen for donkey's years either. I don't know who it is that keeps perpetuating these rumours but it is pure devilment. Installed correctly there is no chance of ill effects from gas.

alright, alright! I'll leave my fridge on overnight next time - just don't blame me if I have to phone one of you for further reassurance at 3am when I can't get to sleep because of groundless paranoia

Agree about the stove.A very good friend died after getting drunk, turning his stove on,and falling to sleep.

You can drive with the gas on if you want, it won't do any harm. I've done it a few times but only because I've forgotten to swap to 12v, no point using gas while the engine's running.

Probably not a good idea to pull into a petrol station to refuel with it on though
