Hi.
Just planning some winter work on the van now the cold is setting in. Was wondering if anyone had ever completed there own pop to conversion and how they found it. Was it easy our hard. How long did it take etc...
Not sure if this is the best place to post this or if it should have gone in another section.

Re: Pop top roof
Converted mine from tin top to viking pop top last year. Found it a fairly straight forward job but did need a bit of help to get the roof in place - however only needed my missus and 12 year old son and his mate to give a bit of extra grunt!
It has given us a load more room when we are camping but loads more wind noise when we are traveling! If I was to do it again I would consider having a new westfalia style roof even though it would not give us as much room as the viking and would cost the thick end of £3000 to have fitted as opposed to well less than £500 fitted for what we did.

Re: Pop top roof
Done a few now,
Buy or borrow a compressor, air nimbler and rivet gun.
When I did my on I put 500 odd pop rivets in with a hand gun!
Measurement is key!
