Re: Anyone use a 3m roll-out awning?
Just to go back to one of my original questions. I wanted to have the wall-mounts for the legs, although this would mean drilling holes in the bus. Has anyone done this with a 3m, and if so, where did the mounts end up? I guess you can work out where they should go simply by trial and error, but what height do they need to be, to get the roof sitting correctly? Is there a time-honoured formula to determine this, or is it just a case of wherever suits you best?
If anyone out there uses the legs "mounted on the side of the van" could you let me know how you worked out where to put them, and if possible, provide some measurements? If you do measure the locations, please do it from another part of the van, not from the ground ( unless you too have a syncro with 15 in wheels). thanks in advance.

your awning has to have the right legs to extend that far
normal stand up two section legs are not long enough

Ah....well, I never knew that. Can you just buy the extensions?

I guess so.. best look
The two section legs are for motorhomes, which are high, so the awning slopes down needing a shorter y axis.
On a T3 the awning needs to be staight out so the y axis becomes a hypotenuse...which has to be longer than x and y
(x being the van side, y being the awning)
trig... I new it would come in handy one day

Thanks - I understand the maths, and can see how the legs would need to be extended, but can't find anything online about how to extend the legs. Anyone done this with an omnistore awning? Propped it up via clips on the van bodywork?

I think the answer here is not to fully extend the awning, if you wish to prop it up from the side of the van. Might not give you the same coverage, mind...

There was a spammers post that's now been deleted sorry
My awning must come out best part of 3m so id think it would droop if you tried to extend the legs onto the van
I can't really see why you would want to do this
